How to fit pedals to your Ribble bike

Pedals are a personal choice, so we don’t fit them as standard on most Ribble bikes. If you’ve bought pedals with your order or are fitting your own, here’s how to do it:

Step-by-step guide

  1. Identify the sides

    • The right side is where the chain sits (your right when seated on the bike)

    • Each pedal is marked ‘L’ (left) or ‘R’ (right)

  2. Grease the threads

    • Our mechanics will have applied grease to the crank arms before shipping

    • If you’re refitting, add a thin layer of grease to prevent seizing

  3. Thread the pedals

    • Carefully hand-thread each pedal into the correct crank arm

    • Make sure they’re aligned straight to avoid cross-threading

  4. Tighten

    • Use a 15mm pedal wrench or Allen key (depending on your pedals)

    • Tighten to the manufacturer’s recommended torque

Your pedals are now ready to ride. Double-check they’re secure before your first outing.
