On occasion, you might find that the bottom most spacer in your SL non integrated bike becomes misaligned from the rest of the cockpit of your bike. Below is the quick and easy method for getting it back into the correct position.
1) Remove the rubber bung from the top cap bolt.
2) Using either a 4mm or 5mm Allen key, loosen the top cap bolt and the stem pinch bolts.
3) The headset should now be loose. Manipulate the bottom most spacer back into the correct orientation.
4) Check that the front wheel is still in line with the stem / handlebars.
5) Tighten the headset bolt until all play is removed from the headset
6) To check this, pull the front brake and rock the bike forward and backward. If you feel movement or play from the headset of the bike, continue to tighten the headset bolt.
7) If there is no play, turn the handlebar from lock to lock. If you feel any resistance, then loosen the headset bolt as it is too tight.
8) Once you are satisfied with the headset tension, retorque the stem pinch bolts and refit the top cap bung.
