eBike motor maps – what they are and how to adjust them

The Mahle MySmartBike app has plenty of useful features, but one of the most powerful is the ability to customise your motor maps.

Your Ribble eBike has three assistance levels, shown on the iWoc button as:

  • Green

  • Amber

  • Red

These are set at the factory, but you can personalise them to suit your riding.

How to adjust motor maps

  1. Open the MySmartBike app and connect your bike

  2. Go to Presettings > Customise your eBike

  3. Open the Motor Maps section

  4. You’ll see three sliders, each linked to a colour on your iWoc

    • Adjust the sliders to set your preferred assistance levels

  5. Press Save to apply your changes

Now, when you change assistance levels on your bike, the support will match the custom values you’ve set.

System differences

  • X35 system: You can adjust the assistance level for each mode

  • X20 system: Offers deeper control — adjust peak power, acceleration, and responsiveness for even greater customisation

This lets you fine-tune your eBike to your riding style, whether you want maximum range, smoother assistance, or full power on demand.
