Charging your Di2 groupset
To charge your Di2 system, plug the Shimano charging cable into the front junction box with the cable pointing upwards. A blue light confirms it’s charging.
Handlebar shifters use button cell batteries (usually CR1632). These don’t need charging and will typically last 2–3 years. Just replace them when the time comes.
How to shift gears with Di2
Di2 makes gear changes fast, accurate and almost effortless.
Right-hand shifter (rear derailleur)
Press the small inner button (closest to the bar) to shift into a harder gear (smaller sprocket)
Press the large outer button to shift into an easier gear (larger sprocket)
Left-hand shifter (front derailleur)
Small inner button: move to the small chainring
Large outer button: move to the big chainring
How to check Di2 battery levels
For shifters
Hold both shift buttons down. An LED near the top of the lever will light up:
Green = good
Red = low battery
For the main system battery
Press the function button on the front junction box. Watch the LED:
Solid green = 100%
Flashing green = 50%
Red = charge soon
Flashing red = low

Extra features for Ultegra & Dura-Ace Di2
