A rear rack is a great way to carry kit—whether you’re heading off on a bikepacking trip or just need extra space for your daily commute. Here’s how to check compatibility and fit one to your Ribble.
1. Check for Rack Mounting Eyelets
Look for threaded eyelets on the seat stays and near the rear dropouts:
Allroad SLR & SLRe – Can take a rack but you’ll need an adaptor.
Endurance AL Disc, 725 Disc, Allroad SL, Allroad Ti – Not built for conventional racks, but a through-axle style rack (like those from Tailfin) works well. This also applies to older Endurance SL Disc and SLR Disc models.
Ultra-Aero & Ultra-Race – Race bikes are not rack-compatible.
2. Alternatives if No Eyelets
For smaller frames (S, XS, XXS) or models without mounts, a LEVEL seat clamp with integrated rack mounts is a good solution. Available in 31.8mm and 30.0mm sizes.
3. Mounting the Rack
If your frame has eyelets:
Apply thread lock to the bolts.
Align the rack carefully to avoid cross-threading.
Position the rack so it’s level—lightly bending the struts may help.
4. Installation Tips
Check clearance – The rack must not interfere with brakes or gears.
Use spacers if needed to bring the rack further out.
Bolt torque – Tighten bolts securely to 2–4Nm.
Mudguards & racks – You may need longer bolts (not normally included).
Final check – Make sure the rack doesn’t touch the rear wheel.
5. Key Considerations
Weight limits – Most Ribble bikes have a combined rider + bike weight limit of 120kg (Endurance SLR: 100kg).
Rack load – Alloy, steel, and titanium models with mounts can usually take up to 25kg.
Wheels – Check your wheelset’s weight rating to avoid overloading.
By fitting your rack correctly, you’ll have a secure, reliable setup—ready for carrying everything from daily essentials to bikepacking kit. If you’re unsure, your local bike shop can always help with fitting.
