Cycle to Work Scheme – How It Works

Making cycling more affordable

The Cycle to Work scheme is a cost-effective way to get a new bike and accessories. Instead of paying upfront, you spread the cost over 12 to 18 months through a salary sacrifice arrangement with your employer. This reduces your tax and National Insurance contributions, so you save money while enjoying a new ride.

How it works

  1. Sign up for your employer’s Cycle to Work scheme.

  2. Your employer provides you with a voucher or letter of collection.

  3. Use that voucher to order the bike and kit that best suits your needs.

  4. Repay the cost monthly from your salary, before tax.

Important to know

Each Cycle to Work provider has its own rules and limits, so always check the details with your scheme before applying. This ensures you understand how much you can spend, what’s included, and how repayment works.
