All Ribble disc brake bikes use thru-axles to keep your wheels secure and aligned. Here’s how to remove and reinstall them safely.
Removing a thru-axle
Insert the correct sized Allen key (usually 6mm).
Make sure the tool is fully seated in the axle head — this prevents rounding.
Turn the Allen key anti-clockwise to loosen the axle.
Slide the axle out and remove the wheel.
Installing a thru-axle
Line up the wheel in the dropouts.
Insert the axle through the hub and into the frame/fork.
Tighten the axle using the Allen key.
Torque to the value printed on the axle (usually 10–12Nm).
Key tip
Always push the Allen key fully into the axle before turning — this keeps the head in good condition and ensures the axle lasts.
