Mudguards are a great addition for year-round riding, keeping spray off you and your bike. Here’s how to fit them correctly to your Ribble.
1. Fitting the front guard
Use the mounting points on your fork (see graphic for reference).
Most mudguards come with an L-shaped bracket designed for rim brake callipers.
On disc brake bikes this bracket isn’t needed — remove it so you can bolt the guard directly to the fork crown.
For rim brake bikes, keep the bracket in place.
2. Fitting the rear guard
The rear guard fits in the same way as the front.
There’s no L-shaped bracket to remove here.
3. Mudguard bridge
Some frames feature a fixed bridge between the seat stays (common on alloy and titanium).
Most carbon frames don’t include a bridge, so you’ll need a removable mudguard bridge or adaptor kit (model specific).
For example, the Allroad SL R and SL R e require a dedicated mudguard adaptor kit.
4. Rear dropouts
On most alloy and titanium frames, the mudguard stays bolt to the outside of the frame near the dropouts.
On carbon frames such as the Allroad SL R / SL R e, Endurance SL Series, the stays bolt to the rear of the seat stays.
In these cases, adapters are often the best option.
