Fitting your integrated bar and stem is simple with the right tools and a bit of care.
Tools you’ll need
- Torque wrench
- 6mm Allen bit
- 4mm Allen bit
Step 1: Remove top fittings
Take off the bolt, top cap from the top of the fork steerer.
Step 2: Fit the bar assembly
- Slide the bar assembly back onto the fork steerer
- Make sure it’s seated correctly
- If it doesn’t slide on easily, slightly loosen the compression bung bolt at the top of the steerer
Step 3: Secure the compression bung
- Apply downward pressure until the bung grips
- Tighten with the torque wrench and 6mm Allen bit to 8Nm
Step 4: Re-fit top fittings
- Reinstall the top cap, and bolt
- Tighten the bolt until all play is removed from the headset
- To check, apply the front brake and gently rock the bike back and forth
Step 5: Tighten the stem bolts
- At the rear of the stem, tighten both bolts evenly
- Use the torque wrench with a 4mm Allen bit to 6Nm
Your integrated bar and stem should now be securely fitted and ready to ride.
